So, just to clear, if we login on magento we can have a button with SAML code, clicking on this button will login to user on salesforce using SSO ?

You will need to enable a SAML Identity Provider endpoint at Salesforce and connect it with Magento by exchanging metadata's

With this SAML extension you will be able to log-in Magento with Salesforce credentials (Salesforce=IdP, Magento=SP).
If you need log users on Salesforce with Magento credentials then this extensions is not for you, I'm able to implement a specific solution for this case, but it will be a custom project.

OR as an alternative, please let us know the cost for building a magento extension such that Magento will act as an Identity provider and Salesforce as Service Provider.
This means, Users should be able to login into Salesforce using Magento credentials.
Your help would be much appreciated.

I implemented a solution where Magento acta as Identity Provider (separate piece of software) that requires the SAML extension
